The Orange 1958-1961Here is the complete set of our beloved WPHS newspaper, The Orange for the whole time we were in high school. It was printed on 12.1" x 18.9" paper, which makes the complete file fairly large. So to make it a bit more manageable, I have broken it up into the volumes, XXIX, XL, and XLI, corresponding to the sophomore, junior, and senior years of the class of '61. Click on any one of the images below to fetch a PDF file contain the entire year's worth of issues as a single file. Since the files, are very large, the download will take several minutes. However, one note is in order. If you take the original 12.1" x 18.9" image and have your printer driver reduce it to 8.5" x 11" for printing, the result is not likely to be very satisfactory. To help out, I have carefully reduced the image to a 8.5" x 11" PDF file. For each year, I have two versions available, the original and the scaled down one. For best results, copy the orginal PDFs to a CD-ROM or USB stick and go to a commercial copy shop and ask them to print the files on paper at least 12" x 18". For home printing, the 8.5" x 11" version is legible (at least if your eyes are as good now as they were when you were a teenager. For more elderly eyes, the 12" x 18" version is better. Probably the most interesting single article in the three years of The Orange above is the list of what the graduates were planning to do after graduation. Some went to college, some joined the Armed Forces, others already had jobs lined up. Here is the list of those going to college or joining the Armed Forces, taken from the last issue in the 1960-1961 academic year.
